This blog is one of the three doors of my portal site: OpenlinX, which provides access to research and reflections on the past and present. Of the other three, one opens the door on book reviews and another stores links to interesting or hard-to-find sites. As you can see it is based on the idea of openess and sharing and, at the same time, on that of complete control over your digital “fun”, as one server is an SSD disk attached to a USB port of my laptop. Here I share knowledge, preserve memory, explore hard-to-reach sources, and propose solutions — always engaging openly with doubt, yet driven by the enthusiasm of ideals and intuition. I have included studies that reflect my past interest in Byzantine Italy and Eastern Christianity, while today I am more interested in the origins of Christianity and the historical Jesus. History has also made an appearance in the kitchen and has led me to discover many interesting things. Moving forward, current events will be the subject of reflection and research, because true culture is not theory or knowledge, but a guide for our everyday lives and a help in making the Earth a better place.
